Chava Bayla Wald
Chava Bayla Wald was born and raised in Toronto, and currently resides there with her husband and three young children. Her journey into Atopic Dermatitis (AD) began when she was just a baby, when she was diagnosed with moderate to severe AD. One of the initial triggers was chocolate, and because she was found to be highly allergic to it, she was prevented from enjoying it for many years.
AD had a significant impact on Chava's life, preventing her from enjoying many activities that most children enjoy (such as swimming, going to sleepover camp, playing sports, going on trips), and because the condition led to debilitating sleep issues, it even affected her ability to attend school regularly. As a result, Chava's childhood did not resemble that of the typical girl.
Over the years, Chava tried many forms of treatment in western medicine from topical and oral steroids, topical calcineurin inhibitors, jax inhibitors, phytotherapies, to alternative medicines, such as acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, naturopathy, homeopathy, and Reiki, often seeking
doctors around the globe.
In 2023, Chava began a new chapter in her life as a patient advocate, taking her past experiences, struggles and successes to help others who may be living (or caring for someone living) with AD. She was recently featured in a worldwide campaign AD Days Around the World with Leo Pharma, where she shared her story.
Chava enjoys nature, music, cooking and meditating and spending time with her family.
