A woman is gazing into the mirror, wearing a charcoal face mask, and contemplating the next product to use. Her products are scattered about her vanity.

My Skincare Routine

Skin care is a huge part of your life when you have eczema. You never know what will work or won’t work, if you’ll have an allergic reaction to something, or if a balm will have a weird smell, etc. Finding a good product is tough, as is putting together a routine and sticking to it.

It took me a long while to find a good skin care routine and I still struggle with keeping up on it. Plus, I’m not just taking care of my eczema, I take care of my face as well so my acne doesn’t go out of control.

Morning skincare routine

After I wake up, I wash my face and eczema with a charcoal facial bar. Next, I apply Earthley's Clear Skin Essential Oil on my acne and blemishes. It's a natural blend of herbs that doesn't dry my skin out.

Charcoal soap is great and it leaves my face feeling soft and clean. I’ve noticed it helps clean my eczema as well!

Earthley's Clear Skin Essential Oil

The Clear Skin Essential Oil has helped my acne amazingly. It reduces the redness of my face and my blemishes have slowly been going away. I will admit though, the scent is a bit strong. If I accidentally put too much on I’ll get a slight headache. However, because it is helping my acne, I have chosen to power through the smell though.

Daily skincare

Throughout the day I apply Hempz’s Original Herbal Body Moisturizer to my hands and eczema. As needed, I apply Earthley's Soothing Skin Balm to my eczema.

Moisturizing my hands is important when you consider how often I wash my hands throughout the day. With the worst of my eczema being located on my wrist, I need to keep the area as clean as possible without completely drying out my skin.

Hempz Original Herbal Body Moisturizer

Hempz leaves my hands feeling nice and soft and it keeps my eczema from getting scaly. Plus the scent is just delightful.

Earthley's Soothing Skin Balm I’ve talked about it before, but Earthley's Soothing Skin Balm has been great for my eczema. It reduces the swelling, keeps the redness down and it hardly itches or burns anymore. I apply it a few times throughout the day, especially if my rash begins to burn.Nighttime skincare routineAt night, I follow the same routine as I do in the morning. I wash my face with the charcoal facial bar and the Clear Skin Essential Oil, except after that I also use Earthley's Deep Healing Skin Serum, which is made to help heal acne scars and get rid of acne. It’s intended to be used at night, so that’s when I use it!Earthley's Deep Healing Skin SerumEver since I started to use the healing skin serum, my scars have been healing beautifully. They’re still taking their time to heal, but they look so much better than they did 5 months ago.My biggest complaint is the scent. Like the Clear Skin oil, it has a bit of an odor to it. Honestly, I think it smells much worse than the Clear skin oil, but luckily after 5 to 10 minutes, the odor goes away.Keeping up with a skincare routineTo be honest, I am not the best at keeping up with my skincare routine. I often get caught up in the hecticness called life and occasionally miss a day or two. However, when I look in the mirror and see how beautiful my skin becomes after following my routine, it motivates me to keep up with it.It may be a hassle sometimes, but feeling good about my skin makes me happy and it’s extremely rewarding to wake up and see that my skin isn’t overrun by eczema and acne.
