dupixent

my adult daughter just started dupixent..had her intial 2 shots and 2 weeks later one shot. seemed to be a little bit better but now she broke out in shingles on her face..we are still hopeful that this new medicine will help and pray that it will as no other medicine has...this disease is so frustrating.
has anyone else started dupixent and if yes please share your experiences. thank you

  1. Hi, nebi55,

Any news on your daughter's progress? Just curious as it's been a few months. I hope that things have improved for her and that the new medicine is helping! This is an absolutely frustrating disease! My husband recently had shingles and it was very painful for him as he also got the blisters on his face and head. He luckily avoided too much spreading from prompt identification and treatment! I hope your daughter was treated quickly and is doing better now too!

    Sincerely,

    1. Nav,

Thank you for providing support to nebi55, and for providing such valuable background research about Dupixent (dupilumab). It will certainly be helpful to continue sharing experiences with this new treatment so that we may learn more about its effectiveness for treating adult patients.

      1. I can understand your pain and feeling. We had same problem as I know Mom quits job and flourishing career to manage son’s severely worsening eczema, keeping him at home full time, attending multiple doctor appointments, getting blood work done on various diseases, cooking allergy friendly foods and changing our lifestyle to a hypoallergenic one — read, read, read, track, track, track, stress, stress, and more stress.

I got this news and also I have researched about (Dupilumab) and written Article (finally Dupilumab get FAD Approval).

Dupilumab approval by FDA US Food and Drug Administration has paved the way for several adults with moderate to severe eczema. Dupixent (dupilumab) injection from the drugmakers, Sanofi – a French pharma industry and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals – a US biotech firm, is a bliss for patients whose eczema symptoms can’t be administered using topical application of creams, ointments or lotions or in case of those for whom such therapies are not recommended.
In a statement, Julie Beitz, Director of the Office of Drug Evaluation III in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, mentioned that the approval granted by FDA for the new drug, Dupilumab, is an assurance of advanced and innovative treatment for the patients with eczema. Dr Beitz added eczema results in persistent skin irritation and uneasiness, hence, it is necessary to assist patients with variety of treatment methods, especially, in case where topical therapies fail to provide significant results.

        Thanks & Regards,
