Hi guys, when taking these meds do your kids have to take regular blood tests? I know I'd have to do if I was going to go on this medication.

 <inline-mention username="Peter Bunting" user-id="2030051"/> Hi Peter. Yes he had to have one at the start to see if it was okay to go on it. Then I think it was a week after his first trial dose to check he was still okay. Now it is every 3 months after he has a check up with the dermatologist. He also had to have one more when they saw somethin in his bloods so they wanted to double check if it was a random spike or possibly due to mtx. We use the numbing cream and now try to do the bloods a different day at the local hospital (we are out of area for his dermatology due to severity too much for our local hospital) as he is quite tired after our appointments so doesn;t always go well at the bigger hospital.

Hi Peter, Thanks for sharing. My son is curently taking this for eczema. We really did take a long time to decide to let him have it as were concerned about how strong the drug was but ultimatly we decided to take it, quailty of life was really declining for him. It has improved the severity of eczema on his body and he no longer has eczema on his face. He now sleeps all night, has no mobility problems and can wash without being in pain. <inline-mention username="Peter Bunting" user-id="2030051"/> I know everyone seems to respond differntly to it but so far my son has only missed one day of school with a virus (compared to many days off with eczema at preschool) so fingers crossed he can continue to do well on it. Only thing we have noticed is more localised small skin infections, we use fucidin on sraight away and it clears.

Great vid Peter! Having a family with young kids and dealing with eczema must be absolutely maddening, so much respect to you!! My dermatologist actually offered methotrexate but I am too fearful of trying because they are very powerful meds and I have a fairly weak immune system so it is a case of not wanting to rock the boat. I sincerely hope you get better and keep us updated. Thanks for sharing - Pete
