Oh, @tamikahebejerr, what a terrible thing to hear from a stranger. I’ve often wondered what people think gives them the right to comment on our bodies! It’s never easy, is it? I still remember a stranger’s comment from the early nineties. Wishing you well, Cora Lyn, AtopicDermatitis.net Team Member

A customer once stared at me then said “omg I can’t believe they hired you with that disability, that’s absolutely amazing”

I work with little kids at times, and the 6 year old just kept repeating that I had snake skin...very loudly.

Oh @Ostrowta, that is not very nice 🙁 Hopefully that child learns not to say things like that. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Thank you for sharing with us, you're definitely not alone. -Sarah (AtopicDermatitis.net Team Member)

A doctor actually said to me, "That doesn't look pretty. It looks really bad." It wasn't my dermatologist but I don't think that comment was professional and it really hurt me.

@nancebeans - That's terrible a doctor said that... 🙁 I agree it is very unprofessional of them, and hurtful, too. A doctor is supposed to help heal. Your experience reminded me of this article about a doctor who said "ew" when looking at a person's eczema... atopicdermatitis.net/living/she-said-ew/ These words are often carried with someone throughout their life. -Sarah (AtopicDermatitis.net Team Member)
