What's one thing you wish other people knew about atopic dermatitis / eczema?

What is something that most people don't know about?

  1. I'd say just the fact that it's SO MUCH MORE than "just skin"! It literally affects everything in our lives. Also, that we usually don't really need any unsolicited advice and suggestions, as well meaning as they are, because we are already kind of experts. And we really don't need our rashes pointed out either, we know they are there, lol!

    1. Yes!! I think people want to help but they don't realize their unwanted advice can be hurtful and embarrassing. Your comment reminds me of this article. https://atopicdermatitis.net/living/everyone-became-a-mom Thanks for your input! -Sarah (AtopicDermatitis.net Team Member)

    2. Very true, Nina. I was in agony yesterday putting on my seatbelt. It's the little things that others don't see. All the best - Pete (AtopicDermatitis.net - Team Member)

  2. Great question! Most people are unaware of how eczema affects all areas of your life from showering, to cleaning your home to the social anxiety when leaving the house!

    1. Those are all great points. Eczema can impact so many things that most people would not think about. Thank you for your response! -Sarah (AtopicDermatitis.net Team Member)
