2021 Goals So Far...

When I looked at my calendar this morning, I didn't realize that we have just over two months left for the year to end. That is right, TWO months!

This year went by so quickly. I can not believe it since I am currently in school and also working full time. My time seems to never be enough and go by so fast. I have very little time for other activities and gatherings right now. As I keep my days busy, I sometimes forget about time and how fast it goes by.

Worries and fears at the beginning of the year

I remember back in January when there was a lot of worry around COVID-19 and what the future had in store. Many people did not know what was to come of the year, and there were a lot of worries. I was one of those people who worried a lot about becoming infected and ending up hospitalized due to an infection. As we well know, eczema patients are more likely to get infections and have weaker immune systems.

Staying motivated throughout the year

I looked back in my journal for what I had written down that I wanted to accomplish and make changes to. Then I realized I hadn't done quite a few things that I wanted to change, which made me realize that I shouldn't have to wait a year to start my list or wait on the first of every month. I should start when I feel ready and motivated.

What were my goals?

These were the top things that I hope to accomplish this year: losing weight, changing eating habits, healthier skin, taking care of myself more, and so on. While I have done some of these goals, some I have not been consistent with. I had written down as my main focus to take care of my mind, body, and spirit. To take out time of my day to take care of myself. To be able to unwind and let my mind be at ease during the nights. I hoped that if I did these things consistently, I would have better skin and more energy throughout my day, which I notice happens when I eat healthier and choose better eating habits.

So as the end of the year approaches, I hope to accomplish these goals to feel good about myself in my skin. I want to feel good and end the year on the right foot. I also want to continue next year by putting myself as a priority and my health. That is something of which I think we need to be more aware about.

What about next year?

Next year, 2022, I hope to make new goals and continue with the goals I started this year. I would like to make a list and find ways in which I can be more accountable. I would like to make goal lists with a friend. We can check in with each other to see if we are on track to accomplish our goals. It helps to remind both people what they want to accomplish. Also, it helps get things done, which I have noticed from past experiences.

Was there a list of goals that you wrote out at the beginning of the year?

What is something you hope to accomplish before the end of the year?

Reminder: Keep going, warriors!
