Natural Moisturizers

What is the best natural moisturizer for severe atopic dermatitis?

  1. Ooo this is a good question! I feel like it’s trial and error honestly.

Personally, I enjoy using Avocado oil! Being from California, I can’t help my love for avocados haha. But what I do is I make sure to wet my skin with water first, gently absorb some of that water with a gentle cloth, then apply the avocado oil right on. If my skin is really extra dry, sometimes I layer on a lotion like cetaphil on top. I used to do this all the time when I lived on the East Coast during the harsh winters! Worked like a charm 😀

I hope this helps you! Another natural moisturizer I’ve been wanting to try is Tallow. Yup, straight up tallow! Oh and I forgot to mention that when my “better” eczema is really dry- and by better I mean the part of my skin that doesn’t need to breathe too much- I use straight up raw organic shea butter.

Please do let us know what you have chosen! Would love to hear what is working(or not working!) for you 😀

    1. Mary Alice from FB says: Lush Dream Cream, although some may have allergy issues. But for me the ingredients are OK.

Handa from FB says: Physiogel A.I. Lipid Balm & Cetaphil Restoraderma are helpful.

      Thanks for weighing in!

      1. Hi twhig, this is a great question! One of our writers, Terry, has some specific natural product suggestions in this video: https://atopicdermatitis.net/video/choosing-skincare-products.

I hope this is helpful and that others with specific suggestions will comment with what works for them.

Let us know how it goes if you try anything new!
