Changing doctors

Anyone have trouble changing doctors?
I have been trying to change primary care doctors but I haven't had any good luck. I always get stuck and people are always sending me to others when its not the right person.

Currently, I have medi-cal which might have something to do with the lack of positive care that I am receiving.

  1. Sorry you’re going through this! I heard there’s only certain Primary care doctors you can use with the Medicaid option so you may have to go in the government system and change doctors from they’re provided list? Also in general I see that it’s hard to get a good doctor who has availability for new patients SMH. I would reach out to National Eczema Association and find a doctor through their database and talk to a person through email for their suggestions.

    1. that is a great idea Raelle. Thank you I will try going with that route instead.

  2. sorry to hear you are dealing with this. I have Medicaid in Illinois and it can be a bit frustrating to get the proper care as well for me personally. Did you find a doctor you like and aren't able to switch, or just can't find the right person yet? -Nina

    1. yes, added stress and eczema don't go well together.

    2. not at all- my biggest trigger! (besides heat lol!) I certainly hope you can get it taken care of soon. Funny enough, I just got my new card for Medicaid here yesterday and they changed my PCP without even asking me or my approval, and I've had the same one for years I am happy with, so I'm a bit irritated and will now have to go hunting and making calls to change it. So you are not alone on the doctor and insurance frustrations!
