Eczema in pregnancy

Hi! I developed two small patches of eczema on my arms simultaneous to experiencing severe allergic reactions to buckwheat. They did not heal. Few months later I fell pregnant. Now eczema has spread over my entire arms and neck and face. Rest of the body is covered by dark pigmentation and dry skin. The eczema on my arms and neck has changed my entire life. The itching is so severe that I cannot move or sleep. I try to control myself because open wounds are the worst. I wonder every night whether I will survive.
Do you have any experience or information to share regarding eczema and pregnancy? Will it go away? I cannot live with this my entire life. It is hell. I feel so much now for people who have eczema since childhood.

  1. hi - that is so unfortunate. I hope you find relief soon. I have trouble with my eczema at night too, so I recommend speaking with your doctor to see if they can prescribe you some strong antihistamines. I don't use every night. It just helps to reset my body if I have had a few sleepless nights. Also, shower/bath an hour or so before bed. moisturise and that may help. 1. Hi, . Some women develop new or worsening eczema during hormone changes such as during pregnancy or menopause. It generally resolves after the birth. This link has a lot of information you should find interesting: https://atopicdermatitis.net/search?s=Pregnancy. Hope this helps, and please keep us updated on how you’re ( both) doing.
