A One Week, One Dollar Essential Oils Review

I recently took a trip to one of my favorite places in this world...the dollar store! It’s my favorite store because of all of the goodies you can find, all for the best prices! I’ve seriously found some gems in the dollar store that I still have and/or use to this day.

Dollar store essential oils?

As I was browsing the aisles about a week ago I noticed something I’d never seen on sale for a dollar before: essential oils. It blew my mind. An oil so cheap?! There’s no way this could possibly work! Against my better judgement, I bought one small bottle [they only came in about 1-3oz bottles] of the oil and a few other products and left.

Dry skin and staying moisturized

My atopic eczema has actually been doing pretty well. Because of a new drug I started recently for Crohn’s Disease, I am super proud to say that both conditions have been well managed. I am so excited and grateful for that. Although my skin seems to be doing better, I still struggle with staying moisturized. The drug has certainly helped with the discoloration and flakes, etc., but naturally I have dry skin and it’s something I am in a constant battle against.

Trying new things

I figured I’d try my new $1 oil out for a spin. What’s the worst it could do? My medication has already seemed to keep my conditions in check so, in my mind, I had nothing to lose. The first day I tried the oil I didn’t notice anything spectacular. I rubbed in between my hands, then onto my face, arms, and legs. Anywhere I’d recently found dry or itchy. Although I didn’t notice anything significant happening, it was soothing.

Cheap products, no expectations

I didn’t know what to expect from such a cheap product, but I decided to continue using it. Day after day I continued to apply the oil and day after day I felt the soothing feeling and slight scent in the air. About a week later and I see my skin glowing. Not the oily kind of glow, but a slight shimmer in my skin. My $1 oil has not only given me relief, but a shiny new glow to match! It’s been a while since I’ve felt beautiful, but I’d say I’m getting there.

Trying other products

Recently, I went back for some more products that incorporate the same ingredients. I’m really excited to try them out. I purchased a face wash and even some body spray. I want to continue to try out these products for a while before I share more information about them. This is my week’s review, but I will follow up in a month or so if things continue to go well.

For such a cheap product, I feared I would deal with a breakout or cracking skin, but it’s honestly been such a smooth transition from my old nighttime routine to the present. I hope these products continue to work. It would certainly save me a bit of money to only require a few dollar oils every night instead of all of the products I’ve been using.
